Roscoe has been going to Groomingdales since he was 3 months old, we tried one other place only once and he will never go anywhere else! He loves them and they treat him like their own baby, we love you all and thank you for what you do
I've been a customer at Groomingdales for over a year now---about a third of my visits there, I've had to have things corrected on my dog's cut (tufts of hair left where there shouldn't be, uneven lines, etc. simple mistakes had someone checked my dog over before calling the job done). I've always paid in full and been overall ok with the experience. Upon scheduling for my visit today, I was told the usual groomer for my dog wouldn't be available, so I thought I'd be proactive and bring in some example pictures for the new groomer of what I wanted vs what I didn't want. Specifically, for my schnauzer, I wanted her beard to be kept long. She came out with a short and wide beard, exactly what I didn't want. She also had uneven lines and they left the hair full length on her tail. When I asked about this I was told hair couldn't be glued back on....I asked to speak with the manger, who wasn't there, so the clerk called her over the phone and gave me the phone after having briefed her on the situation. As soon as I got on, she assumed a defensive and aggressive tone with me, telling me I was contradicting myself on what I wanted. I tried to bypass the rudeness but it continued and I asked her why she was being rude....her response was "well my husband's a state trooper and I am not being rude to you".....what in the world, right? She didn't answer when asked how that was relevant...I don't know if it was a threat or somehow supposed to make her treatment of me better, but I'm curious as to what type of entitlement she is accustomed to, considering how freely she throws that information around. Anyway, I was done with her being rude and informed her that her clerk had the example photos she could send OR she could come to the store and meet me face to face. Neither happened and ultimately the clerk stated they expected me to pay full price for the subpar and unfixable haircut. There was no attempt at remediation, offer for percentage off (this service or next, nothing). I informed her I had no intention of paying full price. The clerk disappeared with the phone to the back and when she returned, she stated that I wouldn't be charged anything for the service. I stopped her and told her I wasn't interested in being unfair or stealing from them, because they DID bathe my dog and they did a partially correct cut. I offered to pay 3/4 of the asking price for the cut & wash, which she rejected several times. After I stopped insisting, she informed me that "you are too picky and we invite you to take your business elsewhere"....awkward version of "you can't fire me, bc I quit!" I don't know why they assumed I'd return after that abysmal treatment. The owner needs to learn tact, class, and most importantly how to run a business with customer service at the forefront. After adding that last bit of insult to injury, I said "ok, I'll be writing a review" and left. Here it is. Hopefully anyone reading gets a better picture if the services and management here.
Edit to respond to owners comments: Maria, if you're insinuating that I'm lying with my review, that just shows how baseless you are. If you don't mind, please point out exactly which part of the above review is inaccurate to how you treated me? Or maybe we can meet face to face like I suggested earlier. It's really easy to talk down to somebody over the phone or call them a liar over the internet, much harder in person. Unbecoming of a business owner--still no integrity or sincere apology, just more attacks on the customer. Fitting the description to a T.
Hercules looked and smelled so good. Deshedding treatment is awedome!
I have been coming to this salon for over a year now and have never had a single issue or ever hurd anything negative about the salon. I honestly hope some people will investigate into some of the people who have left negative comments and bashing the owner or her staff. Very well organized and amazing staff they do beautiful work on our kids.
Pics- Wanted pink flower dog's beard (picture provided to groomingdales). My dog had a fully grown beard when brought in. This (black schnauzer) is what they cut.
