We went on a Tuesday so I had to try the meatloaf which was good, but the sides were to die for...squash casserole, green beans and mashed potatoes. My family seems to agree with the reviews that the fried chicken is the best...

So this was my first visit but recommended by my wife and daughter who must be regulars... in Alabama this would be called a meat and three.
Absolutely the worst catering experience I have ever had!! 1.5 hrs late, couldn't get anyone to tell us anything as far as reasoning. The young girl who came with the other servers had a really nasty attitude which several people noticed. When the manager was asked what happened she said they are really really really really busy, to which I replied that I really really really paid good money and had this set up ahead of time so that this would not happen. This was a Thanksgiving luncheon for all of our employees in our facility. The set up time on the invoice shows 10:15 and 11:00 so clearly they didn't have it together to begin with but regardless you show up at 12:15 and expect that to be acceptable? To top it off, you run out of food??? And not one word about doing anything to resolve this or make anything any better. Absolutely disgusted - extremely unprofessional!!
The outside and restaurant condition is hiding someones grandma in the kitchen... dont be scared off.

It was the "BEST" dining experience and food I have had in years!!! This was my very first visit and I can truthfully and honestly say that everything I ate was unquestionably outstanding...from the oxtails and rice to the homemade chocolate cake. I am very discriminating and cautious when dining out because I've experienced food poison twice and lately became very ill eating a simple light breakfast from a fast food establishment. I will highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves down home cooking that is prepared the right way and clean, which is very important! THANK YOU!!!!!!!! Got there at 5pm, options were few. Sides were not fresh and just about gone. No desserts were available. Suggest that if you want a complete meal, one should get there for lunch.
